Shop Gloversville for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday

Contests Being Held by Chamber and Downtown Specialist

GLOVERSVILLE, NY – Jennifer Donovan, the Gloversville Downtown Development Specialist (GDDS) at Fulton County Center for Regional Growth (CRG), said Downtown Gloversville businesses and organizations are ready for holiday shoppers.

Some local specials include:

Calling it “Black Friday Blowout Week 2023,” Great Rentals, located at 59 N. Main St., will have specials on living packages, TVs and more from Nov. 20 through Black Friday, Nov. 24.

Adirondack Massage Therapist, located on the second floor at the Schine Memorial Hall building at 40 N. Main St., is offering a gift card sale from Nov. 20 through Dec. 20 where the customer will receive $30.00 off the total sale price or can buy 1 gift card and receive $10 off the total sale price. Time and Tide Tattoo Co., located at 145 N. Main St., will have $150 gift certificates for $100 on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

Starting Black Friday and running through Dec. 9, Castiglione Gem Jewelers, located at 25 N. Main St., will host a “Pink Tag Event” on certain diamond pendants, rigs, colored gemstones, and engagement rings.

Addictive Pain Tattoo, located at 29 N. Main St., will host a Black Friday sale from noon to 8 p.m. on Nov. 24 where the promotional value is good to use after Christmas Day: $150 gets the customer $200, $300 gets the customer $425, and $500 gets the customer $700.

In addition to handcrafted ornaments, miniature decorated trees, and original works by Micropolis Artists for sale, Santa Claus will be visiting Micropolis Cooperative Gallery, located inside the Mohawk Harvest, at 30 N. Main St., on Small Business Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

EmpowHering Design, located at 45 S. Main St., will offer 10 percent discounts off purchases on Small Business Saturday. They custom make shirts, sweatshirts, socks, canvases, key chains, ornaments, tumblers, coffee mugs and more.

After a day of shopping, everyone is invited to stay in Downtown Gloversville for several concerts, including:

  • Elastic Endeavors will perform at The Glove Theatre, located at 42 N. Main St., at 7 p.m. BUY TICKETS
  • Michael Manhart (saxophones), Fred Lonberg-Holm (cello), and Michael Bisio (bass) will perform at Karpeles Museum, 66 Kingsboro Ave., at 7 p.m. Donations are suggested at the door.

Shop Small Photo Contest

Donovan reminds shoppers to take selfies when shopping, dining, or attending these events in Downtown Gloversville and submit them to the “Small Business Selfie” photo contest for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate. “From Nov. 25th (Small Business Saturday) through Dec. 10th, shoppers are encouraged to come to Downtown Gloversville and take a photo of their experience and to submit digital photos. A winner will be drawn randomly from the entries on Dec. 11th and the winner will receive a gift certificate from the Downtown Gloversville business of their choice,” Donovan said.

Donovan also reminded shoppers that the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce is also hosting a contest where customers can email the Chamber their shopping receipts from businesses in the Fulton or Montgomery region, dated from Nov. 22 – Dec. 29 and can receive a free entry into a drawing for a $50 Chamber Check. There is a double entry if the business is a Chamber member or a Downtown Gloversville Business.
