Join farmer and organic orchardist Jason Townsend of Kingfisher Farm for a hands-on session of apple tree grafting on Friday, March 14 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Cost of the workshop is $75 per person. Workshop will be held at CCE Oneida County office, located at 121 Second Street, Oriskany, NY 13424. Each participant will be able to graft and prepare 5 trees to bring home with them!

This workshop starts with the basics of apple rootstocks, working with scions, sourcing disease resistant varieties, and how to handle your grafted seedlings for their first year. There will be plenty of time to practice your cutting skills and get feedback.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bucket) to take your trees home in.

The Master Gardeners will also be holding two raffles – one for a gardening gift basket and the other will be an apple pie with a pie carrier. Tickets will be $3 each or 2 tickets for $5. All funds raised will go towards supporting the Parker F. Scripture Botanical Gardens and the Master Gardner Program!
