The inaugural Caroga Winter Carnival will take place Friday, Jan. 31-Sunday, Feb. 2 and it will offer three days of events and activities throughout the entire town.

The Fulton County Visitors Bureau has been looking to assist with a winter event that showcases all Fulton County has to offer during the winter months. With so much focused on our endless summer amenities, it is a chance to reinforce Fulton County as a four-season destination.

This winter, featuring early cold and snow, has set up to be an ideal season to tout some exciting winter adventure opportunities. Casually in December, the concept of a winter carnival was brought up to a couple members of the Caroga business community, and the event instantly hit the ground running and we have lined up plenty of events and activities.

Some scheduled events include: Caroga Outhouse Races are back! Vintage Snowmobile Show, Snowmobile Poker Run, Fat Bike Clinic at Wheelerville Trails, Fireworks over Caroga Lake, kids ice fishing clinic, sled party, Olympic Winter Games, X-C ski, snowshoe, Royal Mountain skiing/snowboarding, chili cook-off, winter volleyball tournament, live music, food, beverage and of course cocoa!

FRIDAY, JAN. 31:

Any-day Winter Activities also include snow showing, cross-county skiing, ice skating, groomed snowmobile trails, and much more. Visit Royal Mountain Ski Area for skiing and snowboarding 9 am to 4 pm, and Wheelerville Trails for Fat Mountain Biking and snowshoeing, Nick Stoner Golf Course for x-c skiing/snowshoeing.
