Makers of the Mohawk Valley

Herkimer College will present Makers of the Mohawk Valley beginning Friday, August 30, through September 30, 2024 at the Cogar Galley located in the Robert McLaughlin College Cen at Herkimer College located at 100 Resorvoir Road, Herkimer NY.

Spotlighting the expansive and diverse creativity of local artists and crafters alike, Makers of the Mohawk Valley has become a staple exhibit for the Mohawk Valley community and Herkimer College year after year. This inclusive exhibit coordinated by Associate Professor of Studio Art Justin Como creates a truly one-of-a-kind experience uniting the work of artists, crafters, creators and makers of all kinds in a magnificent and inspiring experience.

Makers of the Mohawk Valley debuted in 2022 with the goal to celebrate and shed light on the full spectrum of creative work by artists and makers of the local Mohawk Valley community. “There is no one theme” said Justin Como, “That’s the beauty of it. The pieces and themes come together naturally and vary from person to person. Its expressive, it really showcases the wide variety of work our community creates.” The exhibit will feature art and other fine crafted objects produced by individuals ages 18 and above who live or work in the Mohawk Valley.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. The opening will take place on Friday, August 30 with a reception from 5-7 p.m. in the Cogar Gallery. The show will conclude on Friday, September 27.
