Maple Weekend Activities
About Fieldridge Farms
Owen and his father-in-law, Steve, developed a love for maple syrup early on. Both of them had spent most of their lives producing maple syrup using backyard evaporators. By 2019 they were ready to turn their love of Maple syrup into a legitimate diversification for the business.
They purchased an older evaporator, reverse osmosis, and accompanying equipment that were installed in a renovated section of an old storage barn on the farm and a tubing system was installed with 800 taps complete with vacuum.
Maple Weekend is a chance for the public to come to the farm to learn about New York’s maple sugarmaking processes and traditions and to provide a chance to taste pure maple syrup in its many forms – right from the source. This event is organized and sponsored by the New York State Maple Producers’ Association. We are proudly funded by both our members and the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets.
NYS Maple Association
The New York State Maple Producers Association (NYSMPA) is a not-for-profit organization composed of the folks who produce maple syrup and related maple products throughout New York State. We are a diverse group of small business people who understand what it means to work hard in the forests, who take pride to practice sustainable wood lot management, so that healthy maple trees will yield their sweet sap year after year.
