
The Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., has hosted a fall series on the topics of diversity, inclusion and equity.
The final presentation in the series will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 5 pm. Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, of Utica will present “Helping People, Changing Lives and Ending Poverty.”
Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency was created during the civil rights movement and has had a long history of advocating for justice and equity. Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, Inc. (MVCAA) is the frontline resource for families living in poverty in Herkimer and Oneida Counties, serving over 7,500 individuals annually through programs and services in Child Development, Youth Programming, Family Resources, Emergency Assistance, Housing, and Senior Programs. The mission of MVCAA is to increase awareness of the causes and conditions of poverty, forge a future of hope and equity, and strengthen families and communities.
Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of poverty, practical tools for addressing its challenges, and knowledge of local resources to better support individuals and families in need.
The series is generously funded by the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. There will be refreshments following the program.
