SUMMARY:Observing Yom Kippur at the Old Forge Library
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, October 2 at 6p m\, the Old Forge Library (220 Cr
 osby Blvd.) will observe Yom Kippur with an evening dedicated to reflectio
 n\, creativity\, and community gathering.\nThe event will begin with an al
 l-age/all-ability atonement-inspired activity\, inviting participants to e
 ngage in two meaningful crafts. The first\, “Love Hearts\,” involves p
 ainting heart-shaped stones with images or messages of love\, compassion\,
  and kindness—small tokens that can be kept as reminders or given to oth
 ers. The second\, “I’m Sorry Hearts\,” offers a space for personal r
 eflection and symbolic forgiveness. Participants will write apologies onto
  small wooden heart tokens\, which can be taken home\, and given out throu
 ghout the year. These tactile activities offer a creative\, heartfelt way 
 to acknowledge the themes of atonement\, forgiveness\, and renewal that ar
 e central to the evening.\n\nAs the sun sets\, the observance will transit
 ion into a shared meal to "break the fast" at 7:02 pm. The menu will inclu
 de comforting favorites such as kugel\, a baked noodle dish known for its 
 rich\, custard-like texture\, and pierogies\, tender dumplings filled with
  potato\, cheese\, or sauerkraut\, foods chosen for their warmth\, familia
 rity\, and ability to bring people together around the table.\nAll are wel
 come to take part in this evening of spiritual connection\, hands-on creat
 ivity\, and shared tradition\, regardless of background or belief.\nFor pl
