The Old Forge Library hosts Braiding Sweetgrass: Keynote Address by Robin Wall Kimmerer taking place on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 6:00pm at the View Arts Center located at 3273 Route 28, Old Forge, Herkimer County, NY
The Old Forge Library is excited to partner with other local libraries and civic groups for a regional read of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
Residents between Woodgate and Raquette Lake are welcome to take a free book and are invited to join in as the Old Forge Library hosts discussion groups based on sections of the book. See the Old Forge Library website for more details.

Tuesday, June 4, 6 pm ~ discuss Braiding Sweetgrass and Burning Sweetgrass
The regional read will culminate with a Keynote Address by Kimmerer on Thursday, June 20, 6 pm. The Keynote Address will be held at View Center for the Arts, 3273 NY-28, Old Forge.
Entry is free but reservations are required. Reservations can be made starting in Mid-May by calling 315-369-6008, or emailing oldforge@midyork.org.
The free books are available during library hours. The books are generously sponsored by a grant from the Adirondack League Club Fund.
