Thank you for supporting Mohawk Valley Today

Your support goes a long way! Every dollar raised is used to serve the communities in our six-county region covering 5,882 square miles with over 622,000 people.

What we do

Mohawk Valley Today is a regional hub for residents, municipalities, farmers and producers, not-for-profit organizations, and visitors, to learn more about the history, programs, services, and events available throughout the Mohawk Valley region.

Why we do what we do

As a nonprofit corporation under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), Mohawk Valley Today looks for opportunities to share all that is happening in the communities scattered throughout the valley. We hope to play a part in educating Mohawk Valley residents, visitors and transplants about the region’s

  • Communities and shared history
  • Local events that have become integral to Mohawk Valley’s ongoing story
  • Resources for enjoying recreational activities and tourism
  • Thriving agricultural community and how we can all get access to farm-fresh produce while supporting our local farmers and producers

Our Programs

Connect, Send & Share Program

This program highlights community topics such as placemaking, culture and publicly supported economic development opportunities in the region’s towns, villages, and cities to positively impact tourism and economic growth. This includes initiatives like Downtown Revitalization Initiatives and NY Forward.

Community Events Program

This is a free calendar to educate residents
about events happening in all six counties of the Mohawk Valley. The goal of this event calendar
is to help get the word out about community events, nonprofit offerings, and seasonal programs.

Agriculture and Agritourism Program

We work hard to increase awareness and visibility of local farms, agricultural programs and services, agritourism, and farm-to-table initiatives. We also prioritize local producers and food available direct to consumers to help provide fresh local food resources in the region.

Mohawk Valley History Program

The Mohawk Valley is uniquely historically relevant to the development of our nation, beginning with the struggle for independence through the development of the Erie Canal as the Gateway to the West. Our site at MohawkValleyMuseums.us is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history, museums, historic sites, historical societies, and culture of the region.

Recreation and Tourism Program

This program highlights the abundance of recreational opportunities available in the Mohawk Valley and along the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, including the Erie Canalway Trail, and at state/national historic sites and parks. This program emphasizes how the Mohawk Valley is a destination for recreation.
