We love the Mohawk Valley Region…and we hope you will, too!

If you love the outdoors and beautiful scenery, you’ve come to the right place. The Mohawk Valley Region is nestled between the Catskills and the Adirondacks and has a wonderfully rich history. People from all over the state have flocked to this area to enjoy hiking, cycling along the Erie Canal, and boating on the Mohawk River and Erie Canal. Not only will you find wonderful towns and villages along the way, you’ll also discover the historical significance of the area and where westward expansion began in our country.

What you’ll find here

Through our travels throughout the Mohawk Valley and we have learned so much about the region. Our discoveries include incredible history, arts, tourism and community events throughout the valley. Our goal is to bring all that we find to and share with you here at Mohawk Valley Today!

Why we do what we do

Mohawk Valley Today is a result of our love for this area. We love the opportunities we have to be more self-sufficient, learn about the land and live off of the land responsibly. The land we live on has been farmed and inhabited for over 300 years. We hope to add to its story as good stewards of the land and the historical Van Slyke House which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in November 2021.

Thanks so much and we hope to see you out and about in the Mohawk Valley!
