Earth Day at Old Forge Library

The Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., received a Catalyst Grant from the Central New York Library Resources Council to host a multi-pronged Earth Day Celebration on April 22, with a schedule of planned activities for all community members and families.

Earth Day at Old Forge Library festivities begin at 4:00 pm. Activities will include a welcome and spruce sapling giveaway, a DIY pollinator seed bomb activity; a sing-along led by folk musicians Cosby Gibson & Tom Staudle at 5 pm, join together with friends for some good eats at 6 pm, and DIY recycled coke bottle terrarium activity after that. Folks should feel free to stay for the entire celebration or just catch their favorite parts.

Folksingers Cosby Gibson and Tom Staudle are library favorites and have performed several times there for various programs and events. Award winning songwriters and singers, they live near the Southern Adirondacks, near Gloversville. As a duo, they have been performing for fifteen years, and tour both regionally and nationally.

First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day has evolved into the largest civic event on earth, activating billions across 192 countries to safeguard our planet and fight for a brighter future.
