First Day Hike Schoharie Crossing

The First Day Hike at Schoharie Crossing takes place on Monday January 1, 2024 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site located at 129 Schoharie Street, Fort Hunter, Montgomery County, NY.

Start off the New Year right by joining site manager Paul Banks for a First Day Hike at Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site. The hike starts at the Visitor Center (129 Schoharie St. Fort Hunter, NY 12069) at 1 pm and should wrap up around 3 pm. This hike is rated as easy since we will be walking to the East end of the site on the tow paths trod by many a mule along the historic Erie Canal and walking back on the Empire State Trail. Please join us! FYI, snow on the ground may change the hike to a snowshoe with less distance or require traction aids.
