COOPERSTOWN, NY — Learn the various ways plants were used as medicine and how they were produced in the mid 19th century during The Farmers’ Museum’s Herbal Remedies Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 22 and 23 from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The event features herbalist and farmer, ACStauble, who leads a workshop sharing how she produces skin soothing herbal infused salves on Saturday (June 22) from 3:00-4:30pm. She will also offer an herbal extracts demo and sell her products on-site throughout the day.

At the Farmers’ Museum both days

Watch the blacksmith create lab equipment used in the distillation of medical extracts. Tour our medical specimen garden. See medical advertising printed on the museum’s vintage press. At the Lippitt Farmhouse, interpreters show and discuss simple home remedies that every farm family was well versed in producing. Explore the grounds with a Garden Tour or a Weed Walk. You’ll also find everything else that makes the museum a great day trip—the friendly farm animals, the Cardiff Giant, the Empire State Carousel, Todd’s General Store, and more!
