The community’s favorite dessert contest and tasting is back, sweeter than ever!
Time to put on your apron and break out the cookbook! The Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with their popular Annual Sweetheart Dessert Contest on Wednesday, February 14.
Interesting fact: originally known as the Sweetheart Bake-Off, the library was contacted several years ago by Pillsbury to stop using “Bake-Off” because Pillsbury, which is owned by General Mills, owns the trademark for the term.
Entries will be accepted in 4 categories: Child, Teen, Adult and Professional. Criteria used in judging will include creativity, presentation and taste.
To enter the contest, create your favorite dessert and bring it to the library from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 14th.
Community members are invited to a dessert sampling reception at 5:00 p.m. Contest winners will be announced at the reception – winners will receive prizes, and serious bragging rights!
