DANVANN Celebrates Grand Opening of Dutch Hollow Active Adult Living Community

Town of Amsterdam, NY – DANVANN, in partnership with the Montgomery County Industrial Development Agency (MCIDA), hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Dutch Hollow Active Adult Living, a thoughtfully designed 40-unit apartment community that provides privacy, comfort, and independence for active adults aged 55 and up.

Located at 140 Dutch Hollow Lane in Amsterdam, Dutch Hollow represents a new chapter in housing options for Montgomery County residents, offering modern, energy-efficient living with access to a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere.

The grand opening event featured guided tours of the newly built homes, food and refreshments from Dan’s Backyard BBQ, and live music from a local band.

Community members, local leaders, and development partners came together to mark the occasion.

“When we set out to build Dutch Hollow, our goal was to create a community—not just apartments,” said Dan Roth, owner of DANVANN LLC. “We saw a real need in this region for high-quality, low-maintenance housing for independent adults. Today’s opening represents years of planning, collaboration, and belief in what this region deserves.”

Montgomery County Executive Pete Vroman applauded the much needed investment in housing, stating, “Dutch Hollow is a testament to what can be accomplished when private investment meets community need,” Vroman said. “This project helps meet the demand for diverse housing options in Montgomery County while enhancing quality of life for our residents.”

Montgomery County Legislator Michele Pawlik, who represents the district where Dutch Hollow is located, noted the project’s positive community impact, “This is more than just a ribbon-cutting—it’s a moment of progress for our community,” Pawlik said. “Dutch Hollow provides an essential housing option for our seniors while demonstrating the kind of smart, thoughtful development that strengthens neighborhoods and supports our long-term vision for Montgomery County.”

Town of Amsterdam Supervisor Tom DiMezza also celebrated the milestone, “We’re proud to welcome Dutch Hollow to our community. Projects like this create stability and opportunity for our residents, and we thank Dan Roth and the entire DANVANN team for choosing to invest in the Town of Amsterdam,” DiMezza said.

MCIDA Executive Director Ken Rose emphasized the broader economic development strategy, “Dutch Hollow is exactly the kind of development we strive to support—projects that are forward-looking and community-focused,” Rose said. “This not only provides a much-needed housing option, but it also strengthens our efforts to attract new residents and workforce to the area.”
