Featured Mohawk Valley Artist:Carin Kent, The Caring Creator

The Mohawk Valley’s thriving community of artists are active in cities, towns and villages in every corner of our six counties. Resident artists uplift our communities with their creativity and give us reason to pause and appreciate the place we call home. This week’s Featured Mohawk Valley artist is Carin Kent.

Carin Kent, aka The Caring Creator, is a chalk artist, muralist, and promotional designer based out of Boonville, New York. “Caring” is a nod to her name and her compassion and empathy for people. She’s often telling people to spell her name as Caring without the g. She has her Bachelors in Human & Community Services through SUNY Empire State College and 14 years experience in working with people with all abilities. “Creator” is a nod to her Christian Faith in the Creator of the Universe.

In 2018, Carin started creating chalk art on the chalkboard at Rome Alliance Church to go with their sermon series. Over the years this expanded into a business through MVCC ThINCubator’s Artist Refinery and organically to chalk signs, painted windows, promotional content (social media graphics, yard signs, invitations, book covers, and more), private and public murals for local businesses and community spaces spanning Oneida, Lewis, and Herkimer Counties. The Caring Creator is about personalized art that serves others and brings people together. Invite Carin to create art for your business, non-profit, church, or community space to add a customized inviting touch to welcome others.
