Parks & Trails New York Backs Benjamin R. Walsh to Lead New York State Canal Corporation
Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) supports the appointment of Benjamin R. Walsh as Director of the New York State Canal Corporation. Mr. Walsh’s demonstrated leadership and commitment to inclusive economic development align closely with PTNY’s mission to enhance quality of life for communities along the Erie Canalway Trail.
As the statewide advocate for New York’s public lands, dedicated to championing and protecting parks and greenways, PTNY recognizes the vital role the Canal Corporation plays in fostering recreation, tourism, and stewardship throughout the Canalway Trail system. With Mr. Walsh’s leadership, PTNY is confident that the Canal Corporation will continue to advance a vision that honors the corridor’s history while embracing the trail’s future.
