Herkimer County Community College Announces Winner of 60th Anniversary Logo Design Contest

Herkimer County Community College has announced the winner of its 60th anniversary logo design contest. After reviewing seven creative submissions, the selection committee has chosen a design submitted by John Fisher, an online student from Bethpage, New York, majoring in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.

Fisher’s design stood out for its creativity, strong visual appeal, and ability to represent the College’s spirit of pride, connection, and tradition as it approaches its 60th anniversary. His winning logo will be featured across a variety of college materials, including print and online communications, social media, and promotional items celebrating this milestone.

The logo contest, open to HCCC students and local high school students, invited participants to submit original designs that reflect the College’s legacy and community impact. Entries were evaluated by a panel of judges based on creativity, relevance, and usability for various applications.

“John’s design captured both the history and the forward momentum of the College in a way that truly reflects who we are at this important milestone,” said President Terri Grates Day. “As we celebrate sixty years of service to our students and the greater Mohawk Valley, this logo will serve as a lasting visual representation of our shared pride, purpose, and sense of possibility.”

In addition to having his artwork prominently featured in commemorative materials, Fisher receives a $100 prize in recognition of his achievement.
