DRI Small Project Grant Announcement!

Applications for the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Small Project Program are now open! HCIDA is proud to administer the program on behalf of the Village of Herkimer.

Exciting news for the DRI zone!

Eligible projects include a range of downtown improvements! Please call the Herkimer County IDA at (315)866-3000 or email Nicole Farber at nfarber@herkimercountyida.org for questions!

Award Amounts: Up to $100,000
Funding Covers: Up to 75% of total project cost
Minimum Owner Match: 25%
Program Type: Reimbursement-based
Total Funds Available: $600,000

Activity Type & Award Limits

Eligible activities include:

  • Building Renovation ($25,000–$150,000): Funds may be used to renovate façades, store fronts, and commercial interiors.
  • Minor Exterior Projects ($10,000–$25,000): Eligible activities include signage, awnings, and painting.
  • Small Business Assistance ($5,000–$50,000): Funds may be used for the purchase of permanent machinery and equipment

Applicants will be asked to provide project information as part of the application process:

  • What improvements will be made
  • How the building will be used after the project is completed
  • How the project will benefit the downtown area
  • Why the project is important to the community
