City of Amsterdam Free USA Soccer World Cup Viewing Party
The City of Amsterdam will host a free, family-friendly USA soccer World Cup Viewing Party at Shuttlesworth Park on June 19, featuring a full day of soccer, live entertainment, and community activities for all ages. The event is supported in part through funding from Empire State Development’s New York State Community World Cup Grant Program. Gates open at 12:00 PM.
Attendees can enjoy free Stewart’s Ice Cream beginning at noon, followed by a full day of entertainment and activities. Live music kicks off at 12:30 PM with Local 11 performing until 3:00 PM, and In the Dust taking the stage at 7:00 PM. From 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, the Amsterdam High School Soccer Program, led by Coach Jess Verrigni, will host a soccer clinic and activities for youth, along with free face painting, bounce houses, and water slides.
A highlight of the day will be the World Cup Viewing Party USA vs Australia at 3:00 PM, streamed live on a 25-foot video screen, bringing the excitement of the global stage right to Shuttleworth Park. Additional activities include a Mini Soccer Tournament and DJ starting at 5PM. Throughout the day, attendees can also enjoy an Amsterdam Mohawks meet and greet and a full-service concession stand.
This event will feature generous giveaways, including 1,000 free hot dogs for children wearing their youth league sports jersey and 500 free t-shirts distributed throughout the day, along with additional prizes and surprises.
This event is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to attend and take part in a day full of fun, food, and community spirit.
New York State Community World Cup Grant Program
Part of Governor Kathy Hochul’s efforts to bring the world’s biggest sporting event to communities across New York, the City of Amsterdam’s USA Soccer Viewing Party is one of 12 community-based projects statewide to receive grant funding as part of the New York State Community World Cup Grant Program. In addition to the Community World Cup Grant Program, New York State is supporting several initiatives designed to ensure communities across the state can participate in the excitement surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
