FIRST-EVER PERFORMANCE IN THE CITY

Rome native and Syracuse City Ballet Executive Director Fallon Gannon returns home as company collaborates with John Hayes O’Neill Studio of Dance

ROME, N.Y. – Syracuse City Ballet will bring professional ballet to Rome this fall with a performance of Dracula on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 7 p.m. at The Capitol Theatre, marking the company’s first-ever performance in the city.

The performance holds a special connection to Rome for Syracuse City Ballet Executive Director Fallon Gannon, a Rome native who began her dance training at John Hayes O’Neill Studio of Dance. Now, Gannon returns to her hometown with Syracuse City Ballet as the company collaborates with the studio where her own journey in dance began.

“Bringing Dracula to Rome is incredibly meaningful to me because this is where my own journey in dance began. To return to my hometown with Syracuse City Ballet and collaborate with John Hayes O’Neill Studio of Dance, where I first started dancing, makes this performance especially personal. We’re excited to bring this production to the Capitol Theatre, perform alongside 40 local dancers from the studio and give audiences throughout Rome and the Mohawk Valley the opportunity to experience Syracuse City Ballet right here in their community,” said Fallon Gannon, Executive Director of Syracuse City Ballet.

The Rome performance will open Syracuse City Ballet’s 30th Anniversary Season and launch the company’s expanded 2026–27 touring schedule, bringing professional ballet to audiences beyond its home stage in Syracuse.

Inspired by Bram Stoker’s legendary gothic story, Dracula brings the haunting tale to life through movement, storytelling and theatrical choreography. The production offers audiences a dramatic take on the classic story while showcasing the artistry of Syracuse City Ballet’s professional dancers.

The collaboration with John Hayes O’Neill Studio of Dance also creates a meaningful connection between professional ballet and Rome’s local dance community, bringing together the company and a studio that has helped introduce generations of area dancers to the art form.

Dracula will be performed Friday, October 2, 2026, at 7 p.m. at The Capitol Theatre in Rome, New York. Audiences are encouraged to purchase tickets now at www.syracusecityballet.com/season and be part of Syracuse City Ballet’s first-ever
