Amsterdam’s Tree Lighting Festival is set for November 28 at 4pm

Amsterdam, NY: The City of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Tourism, Marketing & Recreation Department presents Amsterdam’s Tree Lighting Festival sponsored by Montgomery County Public Health PFC Joseph P. Dwyer on Friday, November 28th on the Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook Bridge at 4PM.

Mayor Michael Cinquanti stated, “I’m looking forward to our 10th Annual Tree Lighting Festival. This is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season!”

Carriage rides, hot chocolate, baked goods and more!

At 4PM enjoy FREE horse drawn carriage rides sponsored by Got Skills Equipment, hats, gloves and hot cider sponsored by Sticker Mule, hot chocolate, coffee and bake goods by the Amsterdam High School Cheerleaders and caroling with the Mohawk Valley Chorus. Plus, be one of the first to receive your free kids’ winter jacket sponsored by MVP Health Care (limited selection) Children must be present to receive a coat while supplies last. Also, WellNow Urgent Care will be passing out Candy Canes. The official lighting of our tree and Santa’s arrival will be at 4:30PM sponsored by Congressman Paul Tonko.

This year’s Tree Lighting Ceremony will be honoring and remembering PFC Joseph P. Dwyer and the Legacy of Service.

Montgomery County Health Director, Sara Boerenko stated “As we approach the 2025 Holiday season, this year, the Montgomery County Dwyer Program is not only honoring those that have served or are serving this great Country, but to the families of our military men and women who are our Heroes at Home giving the ultimate sacrifice of a loved one to protect us this Holiday season and for many to come.  Thank you to the military men and women and to the families who support this, Nation.”

Also, Santa dropped his Mailbox off at the Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook! Bring your letters to Santa’s Mailbox with all your Christmas wishes; don’t forget to include your return address so Santa can send you a magical letter in return!
