7th Annual Pumpkin Smash

Grow Amsterdam NY is hosting its 7th Annual Pumpkin Smash!

MILLIONS of pumpkins are sent to landfills so help divert pumpkins and have fun doing it!

“Smash it, Don’t Trash it”

Smash your own pumpkins or drop them off. Smash your pumpkin with a wooden maul, see if you can hit the spiked target, or go to town chopping them to pieces.

– Smash pumpkins or toss them at spiked targets
– Enjoy cider & donuts
– Face painting
– Take a family photo at the selfie station
– Pumpkin Bowling
– Game tables (Mancala, Checker and Jenga)

We will collect pumpkins to feed pigs at the Windrake Farm in Fultonville, NY

Jack O’lanterns and other organic decorations will be composted by Grow Amsterdam’s Compost Works initiative by composting your pumpkins you are keeping organic waste out of the landfills, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and creating compost, a natural fertilizer, for the community gardens in Amsterdam.

Bring your straw bales and corn stalks too! Please remove all decorations and candles.
