Community Banner Project to Commemorate America’s 250th Anniversary
The Old Forge Library invites residents and visitors of all ages to join a nationwide celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Through a collaborative Community Banner Project, participants will create decorative fabric squares that will be joined together into a commemorative masterpiece honoring key American holidays.
The library will provide all necessary materials, including 10-inch fabric squares, stencils, paint, patches, ribbons, and sewing supplies. Participants who cannot attend the live sessions are encouraged to stop by the library to pick up a square and complete their design at home.
Additional Workshop Dates:
- Independence Day Themes: Friday, July 3 ( 11 am to 1 pm) and Tuesdays, June 30 & July 7 (2 – 3 pm)
- Labor Day Themes: Friday, September 4 ( 11 am to 1 pm)
The completed banner will be officially unveiled during the library’s Veterans Day Brunch on November 9, standing as a tribute to the community’s shared history and spirit.
All library programs are free and open to the public. For more information, please visit the Old Forge Library or call 315-369-6008.
