Downtown Gloversville Art Walk
Art in the Heart of Downtown Gloversville!
Explore the vibrant creative spirit of our city for the Downtown Art Walk on Thursday, May 14, from 2 to 6 p.m., sponsored by the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce. This interactive, self-guided event showcases talented regional artists across several downtown locations while encouraging visitors to explore local businesses and cultural destinations.
How to Participate:
- Start Your Journey: Begin at the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce (2 N. Main Street) where you can pick up a passport card.
- Collect Stamps: Visit participating locations, enjoy the artistic displays, and collect stamps along the way.
- Win Prizes: Completed passports can be entered for a chance to win a special door prize.
Featured Highlights:
- Schine Gallery (40 N. Main St, 3rd Floor): Located on the third floor of Schine Memorial Hall (take the elevator!), the gallery presents “Schine on Spring—2026”. Explore “A Salute to Veterans” featuring local memorabilia and patriotic quilts in the Big Tree Room from 2 to 6 p.m. Featured artists include photographer/photojournalist Bill Trojan and colored pencil artist Jack Horning. All proceeds and donations benefit American Legion Post 137.
- Memorial Hall Cultural & Arts Center (40 N. Main St): From 2- 5:30 p.m., join local artist Cheryl Bielli in the 3rd Floor Art room for a quick spring-themed craft. These drop-in activities take about 15 minutes, with different options available for both small children and adults.
- Micropolis Cooperative, Inc. Art Gallery (30 N. Main St): Join the “Meet the Artists Reception” featuring guest photographer Stephanie Williams Ruzycky. Explore original pieces by Micropolis artists, including paintings, drawings, pastels, photographs, pottery, sculpture, fiber art, digital art, mixed media, jewelry, glass, basketry, turned wood, and woodland assemblages.
- Sage & Cedar Cafe (33 N. Main St): Featuring Alexandra Higgins alongside Ray Richardson of Fallenlimb Woodcraft. While stopping for the art, enjoy the culinary arts of the cafe with a delightful meal.
- Ricmar Design & Print Shop / Adirondack WoodSpirits (31 N. Main St): This stop on the Art Walk will feature works by artists Linda Finch, Dick Foster, Paul Valovic, Camie Hart, and Chuck Holland.
- Glove Cities Arts Alliance Glove Gallery (52 Church St): Hosting an opening reception from 4:30 to 7 p.m. for Alexandra Higgins’ “Quiet Observations” and Clayton Thomas’ “Fun”. Note, there will be a performance by Michael Bisio outside the gallery.
