The Friends of the Old Forge Library invite the community to their annual Library Bash on Sunday, August 9, from 3 to 5 pm at the Old Forge Library.

A favorite summer tradition, the Library Bash is hosted each year by the Friends of the Old Forge Library, an independent volunteer organization that serves as the library’s fundraising and advocacy partner. Through volunteer efforts, fundraising events, and generous contributions, the Friends help make library programs, services, and special projects possible throughout the year.

Guests can enjoy an afternoon of beer, wine, homemade light fare, and plenty of chances to win. This year’s Bash features an impressive collection of raffle prizes and silent auction items, including original artwork, themed gift collections, dining and recreation packages, handcrafted items, and unique Adirondack experiences. Every prize has been generously donated by local businesses, artists, guides, and community supporters. Door prizes will also be awarded throughout the afternoon.

“The Library Bash is one of those wonderful events that brings people together to celebrate our community while supporting a place that belongs to all of us,” said Libby Zupnik, President of the Friends of the Old Forge Library. “Every ticket purchased, every raffle entered, and every conversation shared helps strengthen the library and the work it does all year long.”

Raffle and silent auction items are now on display at the library, and everyone is welcome to stop in to purchase raffle tickets and place silent auction bids before the event. Winners will be announced during the Bash, but participants do not need to be present to win.

A suggested donation of $20 at the door is appreciated. All proceeds raised by the Friends directly benefit the Old Forge Library’s programs, collections, and community services.

“The Friends are an extraordinary group of volunteers,” said Library Director Linda Weal. “They give their time, energy, creativity, and financial support because they believe in what the library means to our community. On behalf of our staff, Board of Trustees, and the thousands of people who walk through our doors each year, we are deeply grateful for everything they do. The Library Bash is a wonderful way to thank them, have fun together, and celebrate the incredible community that makes our library so special.”

The Friends of the Old Forge Library welcome everyone to attend, reconnect with friends, discover some amazing auction items, and enjoy a summer afternoon while supporting one of the community’s most valued gathering places.
