The Old Forge Library, located at 220 Crosby Blvd., will host an informative session on geothermal heating and cooling on Friday, May 9, at 3 pm, presented by NP Environmental.

A short reception with snacks will follow the presentation to celebrate the Library’s investment in a new geothermal heating and cooling system.

Geothermal systems offer an energy-efficient, low-maintenance alternative to traditional heating and cooling. By harnessing the stable temperature of the earth, they significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and long-term utility costs. Attendees will learn how geothermal systems operate, explore sustainable energy solutions for homes and buildings, and gain insight into the Library’s own transition to a cleaner, more environmentally responsible energy source. This project has been in development for over a year and was made possible through grant funding from NYSDEC Adirondack Smart Growth, the Adirondack League Club Fund, the New York State Library Construction Program, and the Empire State Development Not-For-Profit Capital Grant Program.

NP Environmental, based in Waterville, NY, is a respected HVAC and geothermal contractor specializing in sustainable heating and cooling solutions for residential, commercial, and municipal clients.
