Festival

The Little Falls Cheese Festival begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025 on Main Street in Little Falls, NY.

Join in the fun and excitement of the 10th annual Little Falls Cheese Festival! With over 90 vendors – more then half are cheese producers – you will credibly be able to find your favorite vendor and sample some new offset cheeses to take home with you!

The Little Falls Cheese Festival is a vibrant and beloved annual event that began in 2015 in Little Falls, New York, with a mission to celebrate and support the region’s rich dairy heritage. The idea behind the festival was to highlight local dairy farmers and cheesemakers, promote agricultural sustainability, and bring attention to the world-class cheeses produced in New York State.

Purpose and Origins

Founded with a deep appreciation for the local dairy herds and the artisanal cheeses they help create, by increasing awareness and enthusiasm, and literally, by connecting producers with cheese-lovers from near and far.

Community-Driven and Volunteer-Powered

The festival is organized and staffed by a passionate team of volunteers from the Mohawk Valley region. This community spirit is at the heart of the event, with volunteers working behind the scenes and during the festival to ensure everything runs smoothly. Their commitment has helped the festival grow in both size and reputation.

Visitors and Audience

Over the years, the Little Falls Cheese Festival has gained a statewide and even national following, drawing:

  • Cheese enthusiasts and mongers from New York City and beyond
  • Curious travelers and foodies who make it a must-see stop on their journey
  • Local residents and regional tourists, all eager to experience the best of New York’s dairy scene.

What to Expect

Now in its 10th year, the festival has become New York’s premier cheese-focused event, offering:

  • A curated selection of artisan cheeses made by New York State cheesemakers,
  • Accompanying local food and beverage vendors, including wineries, craft brewers, bakers, and chocolatiers,
  • A celebration of local agriculture, food culture, and community spirit,
  • Connections to the CNY Cheese Trail, a regional initiative that links cheese lovers to producers and destinations throughout Central New York.

The festival is more than just a tasting event — it’s a cultural celebration, an economic boost for local producers, and a showcase of the quality, diversity, and creativity of New York’s dairy industry.

Whether you’re a seasoned cheese connoisseur or simply someone who loves a good gouda, the Little Falls Cheese Festival offers a unique opportunity to explore, indulge, and share in the joy of local cheese.
