Old Forge Library 2025 Summer Reading Program: Color Our World!
The Old Forge Library is excited to announce its annual Summer Reading Program, part of a statewide initiative designed to keep children reading and learning during the summer break.
This year’s theme, “Color Our World!”, invites kids to explore creativity and nature through a series of fun, hands-on activities. Programs will be held on Thursdays from July 10 through August 7, from 1:30 to 3 pm. Each week features a new theme and engaging projects:
- July 10: Color Explosion – Program orientation and DIY cement stepping stones
- July 17: Nature’s Palette – Leaf-printed tote bags and clay nature pendants
- July 24: Colorful Creatures – Pinecone hedgehogs and animal-themed yard flags
- July 30: Earth Tones – Environmental crafts and blue and green slime
- August 7: Celebration Day – Awards, “tie-dye” bandanas, and ping pong lanterns
Weekly sessions inspire imagination and exploration while encouraging continued reading throughout the summer. Activities are geared toward children ages 4 to 10. Older children are welcome to join, and those under 4 may attend with an adult.
Pre-registration is suggested for any or all sessions to ensure adequate supplies. To register, call the library at 315-369-6008 or email oldforge@midyork.org. Attendance at all five sessions is encouraged.
