Old Forge Library Offers Free Sexual Harassment Prevention Training On Zoom
New York State law requires all employers, regardless of size, to provide annual sexual harassment prevention training to all employees. This mandate applies to full-time, part-time, temporary, and seasonal staff, including employees of non-profit organizations. In many cases, the requirement also extends to board members.
To assist organizations in meeting this requirement, the Old Forge Library is offering free sexual harassment prevention training sessions via Zoom. Multiple sessions are scheduled to accommodate a range of availability.
Scheduled Training Sessions:
Tuesday, January 27 at 12:00 PM
Wednesday, January 28 at 10:00 AM
Thursday, January 29 at 6:00 PM
Thursday, February 19 at 10:00 AM
Thursday, February 19 at 5:00 PM
Wednesday, March 18 at 12:00 PM
Thursday, March 19 at 11:00 AM
The training lasts approximately one hour, depending on group size, and includes interactive participation. Attendees will take turns reading slides and answering true or false questions as a group. The content follows New York State–recommended training guidelines and may be familiar to those who have attended similar sessions in prior years.
Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a signed certificate verifying their attendance.
Important note: Because the training is delivered via PowerPoint, participants must attend with video enabled. Phone-only participation does not meet New York State participation requirements.
Organizations and individuals are encouraged to take advantage of this free opportunity to remain compliant with New York State law.
Advance registration is required. To register and receive the Zoom link, please call the Old Forge Library at 315-369-6008 or email oldforge@midyork.org.
