Sensory Play, a free and engaging program designed for all ages and abilities, resumes at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd.

The program offers a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where neurodiverse patrons and community members can explore a variety of textures, sounds, and visual experiences.

For babies and toddlers, Sensory Play supports early brain development by encouraging exploration, curiosity, and learning through touch, movement, and play. Sensory activities help strengthen motor skills, coordination, language development, and emotional regulation while providing a positive space for social interaction.

For older children and adults, the program promotes relaxation, focus, creativity, and mindfulness. Participants may benefit from reduced stress, increased sensory awareness, cognitive engagement, and opportunities for self-expression and connection in a sensory-friendly setting.

Sensory Play is open to all ages and abilities, including adults seeking a calming or stimulating sensory experience.

February/March Schedule:

Thursdays: February 19, February 26, and March 5 at 10:15 am
Fridays: February 20, February 27, and March 6 at 1 pm

Sensory Play is funded by a grant from the American Library Association. Registration is encouraged for planning purposes, but walk-ins are welcome. To register, please call 315-369-6008 or email oldforge@midyork.org.
