Social Dancers: Chris Thomas and Ongwe’hon:wehkah Smoke Dancers
Saturday, July 11, dances at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Based on the Onondaga Nation just outside of Syracuse, NY, the Chris Thomas and Ongw’hon:wehkah Smoke Dancers travel the US and Canada sharing traditional Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) social songs and dances. Through engaging performances, they educate audiences about their rich culture.
These events are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature and friends and members of the Iroquois Museum. For more information, contact Museum Director Steph Shultes at info@iroquoismuseum.org.
