The Old Forge Library, located at 220 Crosby Blvd., invites families and community members to embark on an unforgettable Australian adventure with the Didgeridoo Down Under Show on Thursday, July 23, at 1:30 pm.

This high-energy performance blends Australian music, culture, comedy, storytelling, character-building, and audience participation into an interactive experience for all ages. Guests will discover the fascinating sounds of the didgeridoo, an instrument played by Aboriginal Australians for more than 1,500 years, while exploring the Australian Outback and the Great Barrier Reef. The program also features authentic Aboriginal artwork and artifacts, introduces iconic animals such as kangaroos and koalas, and encourages everyone to move to the rhythmic sounds of the didgeridoo and world percussion instruments.

The adventure is led by performer Rob Thomas, who has been performing with and crafting didgeridoos for nearly 30 years. He has recorded several albums, composed music for films, and presents educational performances at schools and venues across the country. Thomas lives in Linville Falls, North Carolina, and is pleased to bring this unique program to the Old Forge Library.

The Didgeridoo Down Under Show is presented as part of the Library’s Summer Reading Program, but attendance is not limited to program participants. The event is free and open to the public, and children do not need to be registered for the Summer Reading Program to attend.

For more information, contact the Old Forge Library at 315-369-6008 or visit oldforgelibrary.org.
