We proudly welcome The BrokenHearted back to The Glove Theatre! This band wowed our audience last year with a performance that truly captured the essence of Petty’s sound and style.
The BrokenHearted has built a dedicated following, thanks to their attention to detail and their commitment to recreating the classic songs that fans have come to know and love. From “American Girl” to “Free Fallin’,” the band delivers hit after hit in a high-energy, crowd-pleasing performance. Composed of seasoned musicians who share a passion for Tom Petty’s music, The BrokenHearted pays homage to the iconic artist by delivering a powerful and authentic performance that leaves audiences feeling like they’ve been transported back in time to the peak of Tom Petty’s career.
The band’s lead singer Johnny Clifford channels Petty’s distinctive voice with precision and energy, while the other members of the group provide the driving rhythms and harmonies that make up the signature sound of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Meet the Band:
Johnny Clifford – Lead Vocals & Guitar: The “Tom Petty Guy” in the BrokenHearted. Johnny started this Petty tribute band back in 2007. He’s been a big fan of Petty’s since he first heard them in the late 70s. He states he is not acting, but for the most part, hes is just being Johnny. After four decades he still loves the music, and the Heartbreakers are still his favorite. Clifford’s voice is eerily similar to Petty’s. His on-stage presence is spot on, even rocking the harmonica just like Tom Petty. If you have ever seen him, you know it’s a natural fit.
Matt Donnelly – Keys & Vocals: A musical fixture in the North East for over 30 years. He has written music scores, musical theater, recorded commercials and instructional soundtracks. He has performed on several recordings including Bob Warren’s CD. Matt has opened for such musical treats like Brian Auger and Eric Burdon. He played in many great bands like the Drifters, the Coasters, he performed on a “Hit pick” on the billboards top 100’s, played on WMHT for a live Jazz series and performed on national television on “lifestyles of the rich and famous”. Matt is from GLOVERSVILLE!!!
Frank Affintino – Drums & Vocals: Frank is all about great drum sounds and a great groove. He is also charged with extensive harmony duties.
James Cappello – Bass: James rounds out the rythm section on bass. Jim and Johnny have a long musical history together. During the 80s, they were bandmates in a group called Panache and most recently with Capital District favorite, Blue and Luke.
Peter Vroman – Guitar: Peter, the newest member of the band, adds some fun to the group and is known for his amazing guitar playing!
