Master Gardener Volunteers of CCE Oneida County Fruit Tree & Berries Workshop
Rome, NY: Gardeners, educators, and fruit enthusiasts are invited to attend the upcoming Fruit Tree & Berry Workshop hosted by the Master Gardener Volunteers of Cornell Cooperative Extension Oneida County. The event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Rome Art and Community Center (RACC), 308 West Bloomfield Street, Rome, NY.
This hands-on educational workshop will focus on practical skills and knowledge for growing and maintaining fruit trees and berries. Participants will learn proper pruning techniques for berry plants, seasonal care for raspberries, brambles, figs, and tree fruit, and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies designed to help growers maintain healthy plants while reducing pest pressures.
The event will feature presentations from Cornell Cooperative Extension Oneida County Master Gardener Volunteers as well as guest speakers including Natika Walters, Agriculture Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Oneida County, and Anna Wallis, Fruit IPM Coordinator at Cornell University.
The workshop aims to bring together members of the community who are interested in fruit growing and local agriculture. It is ideal for gardeners, educators, fruit growers, and individuals interested in fruit-related entrepreneurship.
Registration is $30 per person, and pre-registration is required.
