Keep Mohawk Valley Beautiful Celebrates 2025 Efforts

Mohawk Valley, NY – Keep Mohawk Valley Beautiful (KMVB) has had another successful year of litter clean-ups and beautification efforts. KMVB is a local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, and is hosted by the Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, Inc., and a network of local volunteers. Every year, with the help of generous donations from local organizations, KMVB provides support and awareness to groups looking to get out into their parks, neighborhoods and roadways to clean up litter.

“Litter is not only an eye-sore, it has damaging effects on our local ecosystem, can clog storm drains leading to more severe flooding, lower property values, and can be a distraction to road drivers. The benefits of greenspace on our well-being is vast, and keeping our greenspaces free from litter can help encourage a collective community responsibility to keep it that way,” says Samantha Francisco of MVEDD and the KMVB committee.

This year, KMVB would like to share some exciting announcements at our wrap-up event, taking place on Monday, September 29th at 9:30am at the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency’s Cornerstone Head Start building, at 1100 Miller Street, Utica, NY.

We will be gathering at MVCAA to see the new interactive garden space, made possible by a $20,000 Keep America Beautiful Dr. MLK Jr. Community Improvement Grant. A local landscaping company, Kubecka’s Lawns & Landscaping LLC., helped bring this new garden space to life.

KMVB will also be announcing the results of this year’s cleanup, and sharing an exciting announcement.

KMVB would like to invite the press, local officials, and the public to the event, and to check out the new play space at MVCAA.
