Mohawk Valley Today Featured Weekend Events June 28-30

There’s so much going on this weekend and you won’t want to miss out! Thanks so much to everyone for sending us events in Herkimer, Gloversville, Ilion, Little Falls and Cooperstown. Stock up on locally grown, fresh produce at area Farmers’ Markets.

Herkimer hosts the Kickoff of the Mohawk Valley Farmers Market!

The new Mohawk Valley Farmers Market is open Fridays from 12:00pm until 6:00pm beginning June 28, 2024 located at 142 North Main St, Herkimer, and accessible from North Washington St., in Herkimer, NY.

Our market, which runs from June 28 until October 11, is a source of fresh, locally grown, seasonal produce. Our weekly farmers and vendors will also provide local meat and eggs, maple products, fresh-cut flowers, locally made crafts, and children’s activities.

This Mohawk Valley Farmers Market is an extension of the Mohawk Valley Community Market. Look for our flags and banners!

It’s time for Gloversville Food Truck Friday!

The 2024 Gloversville Food Truck Fridays continues Friday, June 28, at Castiglione Park on North Main Street, and for this date, food vendors will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The musician performing on June 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is Kyle Rix. Food truck vendors are Nibbles & Bites, Jammin’ Juice Bar, Parkside Hot Dogs, Teddy’s Gyros, and Robb’s Topp Doggs Mobile Kitchen. Gloversville Public Library and Glove City Coalition will also be on hand.

Eric Vetro, Celebrity Vocal Coach to the Stars

In addition to enjoying food trucks and lunch in the park, a special event honoring Gloversville High School graduate and “Celebrity Vocal Coach to the Stars,” Eric Vetro, will be held across the street from Castiglione Park at The Glove Theater, 42 N. Main St. A city proclamation will be presented to Vetro at noon. The theater will show the movie “American Graffiti” at 2 p.m. with a special video message from actor, director, and movie producer Ron Howard being played before the movie for the Gloversville High School Class of 1974 as the 50-year class reunion is being celebrated that weekend. The concession stand will be open for the event and classic hot rod cars will be on display outside the theater.

Eric Vetro, “Celebrity Vocal Coach To The Stars” in Los Angeles returns to his Hometown (Gloversville). Gloversville Mayor to issue Proclamation of Gratitude to Eric Vetro – 12:00 p.m. Vetro to be Key speaker at Gloversville High School Graduation – 7:00 p.m. The Glove Theatre to air 1973 Movie at 2:00 p.m. – American Graffiti. Ron Howard (Actor/Movie Producer) has special message to Gloversville High School Class of 1974 as 50-Year Class Reunion being celebrated. ***Weather Pending – Classic 1950’s/60’s Car(s) on Display plus  Food Truck.

The Ilion Little Theater production of The Savage Dilemma continues with performances Jun 28-Jun 30th in Ilion.

The Ilion Little Theatre production of The Savage Dilemma has a limited number of tickets available at the door on a first come basis even if online tickets are sold out.

Ilion Little Theatre provides the Mohawk Valley with high quality live entertainment by presenting several major productions every year. The Ilion Little Theatre also gives the area’s residents the opportunity to be involved in the rewarding world of amateur theater.

Open Mic in Little Falls

Open Mic! Present your poetry, stand-up, or music on June 29 at 12:30pm at the Little Falls Library. Sign-ups are the day of the event and begin 30 minutes before start time.

Gather with friends and neighbors at the Little Falls Public Library to present poetry, stand-up comedy or music at the library’s monthly event. This event makes it easy to have fun while getting to know the talent present right in Little Falls.

Cooperstown Pride Block Party

The Cooperstown Pride Block Party event takes place on Sunday, June 30th, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Pioneer Park, Cooperstown, NY.

June is Pride Month in the state of New York, a celebration of LGBTQ+ self-identity, inclusivity, and equality. To celebrate, local businesses and community members have partnered with the Otsego Pride Alliance to present the first annual Cooperstown Pride Block Party.

Attendees can anticipate a variety of family-friendly activities, including free face painting, kid’s crafts, and games, along with a special appearance by the Hill City Ice Queens! Additionally, there will be lively DJ-sets featuring DJ Raphael and special guests from the community.

Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts in collaboration with The Renaissance Pub presents a Collaborative Photography Show featuring the work of 4 different local women photographers.

Each photographer tells their own story with their own unique style and capture behind the camera. Exhibit runs through mid-July.

  • Little Falls Farmers Market takes place on Saturdays from 8 am – noon, Market is located at the M&T Bank Building parking lot 501 E. Main Street Little Falls NY. FMNP Accepted FCC Accepted.
  • Gloversville Farmers Market is open from 8:30 am- 12:30 pm Saturday under the Elm Street Pavillion between Bleeker and Spring Streets, Gloversville, NY.
  • Boonville Community Harvest Market takes place on Friday from 2:00pm until 7:00pm at Erwin Park, Boonville.
  • Oneida County Public Market is located at the Utica Train Station back parking lot on Saturday from 9:00am until 1:00pm
  • Dolgeville Farmers Market is open on Saturday from 9:00am until 1:00pm at Plow Park located at the corner of South Main Street and Cramer Lane, Dolgeville NY.
  • Cooperstown Farmers Market is open on Saturday from 9:00am until 2:00pm at Pioneer Alley in Cooperstown, NY.
  • Canajoharie Farmers Market takes place on Sundays, from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the corner of Church Street and Market Street in Canajoharie, Montgomery County, NY.
