Next Invites Session Proposals for 2026 Mohawk Valley Nonprofit Symposium
Herkimer Next, Inc. (Next) is now accepting session proposals for the 2026 Mohawk Valley Nonprofit Symposium. This regional convening for nonprofit professionals and volunteers will be held on Thursday, May 21 at Herkimer County Community College.
Mohawk Valley Nonprofit Symposium
The Mohawk Valley Nonprofit Symposium brings together nonprofit professionals, board members, funders, and community partners from across the Mohawk Valley to strengthen organizations through education, collaboration, and connection.
Since 2024, the Symposium has grown to more than 150 nonprofit attendees from 11 counties, with attendance expected to approach 200 participants in 2026.
“Capacity building is foundational to funding readiness,” says Michele Hummel, Executive Director at Next. “This call for speakers is focused on bringing forward practical expertise that helps nonprofits strengthen governance, financial systems, evaluation, and leadership – areas funders consistently prioritize. The Mohawk Valley Nonprofit Symposium is designed to ensure organizations are not only mission-driven, but prepared, credible, and positioned to secure and steward investment.”
Proposals
Next encourages proposals that are grounded in real nonprofit experience and include practical tools, templates, or examples. Proposals should also be mindful of the capacity constraints of small organizations and encourage peer learning and discussion.
Proposals will be accepted through February 20, 2026.
