Oneida Indian Nation Hosting Craft Fairs

The Oneida Indian Nation is set to host a variety of Craft Fairs heading into the warmer weather showcasing traditional Oneida and American Indian art, including handmade jewelry, beadwork, carvings, artwork, textiles, ceramics and more. The first will be the Oneida Elders Craft Fair on Friday, April 28, followed by the Shako:wi Cultural Center Craft Fair on Saturday, May 6 and finishing up with the American Indian Summertime Craft Fair on Saturday, June 3.

The Oneida Elders Craft Fair

The Oneida Elders Craft Fair will take place Friday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oneida Indian Nation’s Ray Elm Children and Elders Center. Crafts and artwork created by Oneida Elders will be available. Several gift basket raffles will also be held to raise funds for the Elders Program.

The Shako:wi Cultural Center Craft Fair

The Shako:wi Cultural Center Craft Fair is happening Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. directly outside of the Center on Territory Road. The Shako:wi Craft Fair will feature 40 American Indian crafters, artists and food vendors along with a Fry Bread Competition and dance competitions for the War Whoop and Smoke Dance.

The American Indian Summertime Craft Fair

The American Indian Summertime Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Turning Stone Resort Casino, Event Center Corridor. Dozens of American Indian crafters from across the region will be on hand to showcase their hand-made jewelry, artwork, ceramic, woodwork, beadwork and more. Social dance demonstrations featuring Chris Thomas and his Smoke Dancers will take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
