Institute for Rural Vitality Announces Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Report
The Institute for Rural Vitality has just compiled its Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2025, highlighting another year of measurable impact in supporting small businesses, agricultural producers, and entrepreneurs across the region.
Over the past year, the Institute continued to strengthen rural economies by connecting local businesses with resources, expertise, and opportunities for sustainable growth. Through its programs the IRV aided in the production of 40 new value-added products, bringing the lifetime total to 142 locally developed products—each contributing to the region’s growing food and agricultural economy.
Helping Businesses Secure Funding
The Institute also helped businesses secure more than $753,000 in financing and grant opportunities through targeted outreach, educational programming, and one-on-one guidance. This included assistance with identifying available funding sources, reviewing grant and loan applications, and providing personalized financial support to help entrepreneurs move their ventures forward.
Increasing Revenue
Across all IRV programs, participating businesses reported a combined $2.06 million in increased revenue, demonstrating the tangible outcomes of the Institute’s mission to foster innovation, growth, and resilience within New York’s rural communities.
“The numbers tell an important story, but behind every dollar and every product is a business owner investing in their community and their future,” said Darin Clark, Manager of Communications at the IRV. “We’re proud to help turn ideas into thriving enterprises and to see the continued ripple effect of rural entrepreneurship across our region.”
Commitment to Rural Business Development and Collaboration
The Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Report reflects not only the Institute’s commitment to supporting rural business development but also the strength of collaboration among SUNY Cobleskill faculty, students, community partners, and the entrepreneurs who drive local innovation.
