Two Great Amsterdam Events Coming in August

Creekfest on August 2

The event features live music, food, kid zone and more!

First coming on August 2, the City of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Tourism, Marketing & Recreation Department present our first annual CreekFest on Saturday, August 2nd from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Lyon St.

Mayor Cinquanti stated, “Thanks to the visions, investments and incredible work of some gifted long-time city residents, the Rockton area has become one of our city’s favorite destinations for dining and entertainment. I’m thrilled we are hosting a city-fest there this year because it will give these businesses the additional exposure they so richly deserve!”

The event begins at 11am with vendors, a kids’ zone, face painting, food trucks, arts and crafts, and a DJ. From 2-4pm, we will host our inaugural Karaoke Contest, with gift cards to local restaurants awarded to the first and second place winners.

From 4-8pm, we invite you to participate in our premier kid Fun Foam Fest, a traveling, high-energy foam party designed to foster community through music, bubbles, and fun. 4-8pm, there will be a Bike Night in front of Lyon St Bar and Grill. Finally, from 5-8pm, attendees can enjoy live music featuring Doc Orloff.

National Night Out on August 5

Amsterdam, NY: The City of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Tourism, Marketing & Recreation Department presents Amsterdam’s National Night Out, Sponsored by Berkshire Farm on Tuesday, August 5th from 5PM–9PM in Veteran’s Park.

National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.

There will be vendors, food, live music with Steve Cowles, free kids’ activities, free bounce houses & water slides, police, fire & safety demonstrations, free ice cream from Stewarts and much more. There will also be a free outdoor movie on the big screen at dusk- Zootopia+ and the City Pool will be free and open late until 8PM!
