FONDA TREE LIGHTING AND LIGHT UP THE NIGHT
Visit Montgomery County and the Village of Fonda will host a community holiday event, including a tree lighting ceremony and “Light up the Night”, trunk-or-treat and light show, Friday Dec 5.
The tree lighting will begin at 5:30 p.m. near the Village of Fonda bathhouse. Music will be provided by members of the Fonda-Fultonville band and choir, and the Fonda-Fultonville cheerleaders will perform as part of the program.
“Light up the Night”, a trunk-or-treat and light display, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the adjacent parking lot at 20-40 Park St. Local fire departments, businesses and community groups will be decorating their vehicles and distribute candy and small treats to children.
The first 100 children at the event will receive a free stocking to use for collecting treats, while supplies last.
Montgomery County Department of Public Works will be raffling off a bicycle donated by Mark and Susan Scott during the event. Children will also have the opportunity to take photos in a sleigh and drop off or write letters to Santa on site. The Fonda-Fultonville Class of 2027 will sell refreshments during the event. “Light up the Night” is free and open to the public. Parking will be available in half of the village parking lot, near the canal and at the Montgomery County Annex Building.
In the spirit of giving, we encourage those who are able to support local organizations in the Fonda–Fultonville area that work tirelessly to help families in need. Together, we can make a difference.”
