Otsego County Broadband Regulatory Workshops

Otsego County Broadband Regulatory Workshops
Thanks again to all who have been participating in the Broadband Regulatory Workshops, hosted by Vernonburg Group.

The Otsego County Broadband Technical Assistance Project is a 12-month planning initiative designed to help close the digital divide and prepare the county for future broadband investments. With funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Utilities Service, this effort brings together local leadership, regional development experts, and technical consultants to assess broadband needs, engage the community, and chart a clear path forward.

Project Objective

Our goal is to create a comprehensive, data-informed broadband strategy that meets the unique needs of Otsego County’s residents, businesses, and institutions. This strategy will:

  • Identify and map underserved and unserved areas
  • Gather input from residents and local stakeholders
  • Recommend practical infrastructure and funding solutions
  • Support digital equity for education, health, agriculture, and economic development

By the end of the project, Otsego County will be equipped with:

  • A detailed broadband needs assessment
  • Publicly accessible maps and data dashboards
  • Community-driven recommendations
  • A funding-aligned broadband expansion strategy
