Our countdown to the much anticipated Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival begins now!

September 12, 2026 • 10am-5pm • Historic Canal Place, Little Falls

Sound the alert: We are just one month away from the annual Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival! The best place to eat, stink and be merry features the some of the best garlic growers and other top-tier vendors from the Mohawk Valley and beyond!

While you can definitely expect fresh garlic and garlic-infused foods to munch on (can you say garlic fudge?!), there are also plenty of other quality produce vendors, fine artisans, food product producers, herbs and flower vendors, food trucks, family activities and more. Of course, it wouldn’t be a festival without live music and entertainment throughout the day, too!

Uniquely local

According to the Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival organizers, the climate and soils found in the Mohawk Valley are ideal for growing garlic and herbs, which is why we have so many amazing, local producers. The Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival is a non-profit agricultural festival–”we aim to provide information to area would-be farmers and gardeners pertaining to the benefits of growing these crops.”

Come to eat, stink, & be merry!

Since the Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival is a non-profit agricultural festival, the event is very affordable to attend. The organizers ask for a small, $5 suggested donation for individuals, and $15 for family/group admissions. Even better, you can feel great about your donation since the funds help fulfill the festival mission of promoting local farmers, artisans and local trade. In fact, 1/3 of all donations received at the festival go right back into community organizations in the Mohawk Valley!

If you do choose to attend, please keep in mind that only service dogs are allowed in the festival. A word from the hard-working organizers about the service dog policy: “Our insurance policy does not allow us to have dogs on our festival grounds. We are a unique festival held in a closed-in area of Little Falls, hosting thousands of people. The safety of our visitors is our first priority.”

Wondering about parking? Worry not! The parking situation at the festival is a breeze. There is plenty of parking and a free shuttle takes you from the parking lot, straight to the entrance of the festival.

A fall must-attend event in the Mohawk Valley

The Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival was founded in 2000 by a group of passionate garlic farmers from Little Falls. Since its conception, the Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival has grown into an iconic autumn kick-off celebration in the Mohawk Valley. While you visit, really take time to talk to the local growers about their offerings and the benefits of cooking with locally grown garlic and other locally produce. What could be better than listening to music, enjoying tasty food, and supporting local agriculture? It’s a must-experience event for all ages and we can’t wait to see you there!
