Fulton County Chamber and CRG to Highlight Small Business Saturday Campaign at Mohawk Harvest After Hours on Nov. 4

GLOVERSVILLE, NY — The Gloversville Downtown Development Specialist (DDS) at the Fulton County Center for Regional Growth (CRG), in partnership with the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce, invites the local business community and area residents to attend Business After Hours at Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The campaign

The upcoming Small Business Saturday campaign will be kicked off at that time. Designed to celebrate Small Business Month throughout November, the initiative aims to highlight local merchants and drive foot traffic into Downtown Gloversville, as well as to the Chamber’s 600-plus members, ahead of Black Friday (November 27) and Small Business Saturday (November 28).

“Shopping locally is about much more than a transaction. It is a conscious investment in the character, heartbeat, and future of our neighborhoods. When we choose to spend our dollars at independent storefronts, we are directly supporting our friends and neighbors, creating local jobs, and ensuring that our communities remain vibrant, unique places to call home,” said Jennifer Donovan, Downtown Development Specialist.

“Small Business Saturday shines a spotlight on the local businesses that drive our economy, enrich our neighborhoods, and contribute to the quality of life throughout our region. We are proud to partner with the Center for Regional Growth and the Downtown Development Specialist to celebrate the businesses of Downtown Gloversville, increase their visibility, and encourage the community to support the entrepreneurs and small businesses that continue to invest in and strengthen the city,” said Jennifer Laubenstein, Executive Director.

About Small Business Saturday

Founded by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday was created to support independent merchants and redirect holiday spending toward local economies. By 2011, the movement gained official national backing from the U.S. Senate and the Small Business Administration (SBA), quickly evolving into a cherished nationwide tradition held annually on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

What to expect

As part of the month-long celebration, promotional tote bags containing coupons, special offers, flyers, gift cards, and event details from participating Downtown Gloversville merchants will be prepared for distribution starting November 9.Numerous downtown businesses are featured directly inside the bags, with additional participating merchants highlighted across official community social media channels. At the After Hours, Chamber and DDS representatives will present the Mohawk Harvest manager with the first promotional bag of the season.

“I have partnered with the Chamber for the past three years to promote this vital shopping season for our local businesses,” said Jennifer Donovan, Downtown Development Specialist. “While the Chamber works with members across Fulton and Montgomery counties on regional efforts, they are partnering with us directly for Downtown Gloversville. I thank them for their ongoing support of our business community, and I look forward to another successful campaign.”

“One of the Chamber’s most important roles is creating opportunities for businesses to be seen, supported, and connected to their communities. This campaign highlights the entrepreneurs and small business owners who have invested in Downtown Gloversville and helps reinforce the importance of keeping holiday spending local. We are proud to partner with the Downtown Development Specialist to promote these businesses and contribute to the continued growth and success of downtown,” said Jennifer Laubenstein, Executive Director.
