Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra Perform at The Glove Theatre’s 518 Concert Series, Saturday, May 25 at 7pm

GLOVERSVILLE, NY – The Glove Theatre’s “518 Concert Series” (42 N Main Street, Gloversville) continues on May 25th at 7pm with the award-winning Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra and special guests Baila Albany! The Glove’s President, Kathleen Perrott said, “We’re thrilled to be able to showcase the array of musical talent within the 518”.

This event features the 12-piece orchestra based in Amsterdam NY led by bassist Alex Torres.

The orchestra performs their unique, original blend of Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as Salsa, Merengue, Cha-cha, Bomba, Plena and Latin Jazz. The group won the Capital Region’s 2024 Eddies Award for World Music Artist of the Year and they’ve been the recipient of numerous other awards in the region and beyond!

Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra is registered with the Arts-In-Education Program of New York State. This program brings the orchestra into schools to showcase cultural diversity and explain the music, instruments and rhythms associated with their music. Perrott indicated,

“The Glove welcomes local students to join in on the fun and to experience this diverse and unique musical experience in person. Students under 18 will receive free entry to this show.”

Baila Albany will join in and bring some fun of their own with Salsa dancing demonstration and instruction!
