Amsterdam Rotary Club to Present 28th Annual Variety Show, Community Tradition Returns to Raise Funds for Five Local Beneficiaries

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. — Live From Amsterdam: The Rotary Show is bound to entertain viewers of all ages this weekend while raising funds to support organizations and initiatives throughout the community.

About the show

The show will take place on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13 at 7 p.m. at the Amsterdam High School. Tickets are $12 at the door. Students are always $5.

Since its inception 28 years ago, the Amsterdam Rotary Club’s Variety Show has raised more than $1 million to support local nonprofits, educational programs, scholarships, and community projects throughout Montgomery County.

Proceeds

Proceeds from the 2026 Variety Show will benefit New Dimensions in Health Care, Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties, St. Mary’s Healthcare, the Greater Amsterdam School District Drama Club, and the Amsterdam Rotary Scholarship Program. Ten “Service Above Self” scholarships totaling $7,000 are being awarded this year throughout Montgomery County.

“Our club is committed to serving as many people in our community as possible, and that commitment is reflected in this year’s beneficiaries,” Amsterdam Rotary Club President Morgan McClary said. “Countless volunteers have dedicated their time and talents to creating a memorable show that will not only make you laugh, but also leave you feeling good knowing your attendance helps make a difference right here in our community.”

The annual production features a cast of Rotary members and community volunteers who spend months preparing skits, musical performances, and comedy acts. All ticket sales go directly back to the beneficiaries.

“The theme is a variety show about variety shows. We have taken skits and songs from Saturday Night Live, The Carol Burnett Show, Lawrence Welk, Hee Haw, The Tonight Show and others. The show is heavy on comedy this year, with lots of talent from all over the community—some familiar faces and some new faces,” said Brigitta Rose, co-director of the show and a member of the Amsterdam Rotary Club.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun. I think it’s going to be the funniest show to date. It’s got to be the largest group of talent we’ve ever had, and I think people are going to enjoy it because it’s much more comedy-heavy than in past years,” Rose said. “We’ve included some of the best-known skits of all time from Saturday Night Live, but those are a surprise, so you’ll have to come to the show to find out!”
