Audition Notice for America 250 Celebration at Ilion Little Theatre

ILION, N.Y. — In honor of the upcoming United States Semiquincentennial, the Ilion Little Theatre is seeking local talent for a special variety show celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Auditions will be held on Monday, March 23 and Wednesday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the theatre’s historic home, “The Stables,” located at 13 Remington Ave, Ilion.

The production, scheduled for July 25and 26, aims to bring the community together through a diverse showcase of patriotic acts. The theatre is looking for a wide range of performances that reflect the birth of the nation and the ideals it stands for, including:

  • Music & Dance: Patriotic songs, period-appropriate musical pieces, or contemporary dance tributes.
  • Drama & Spoken Word: Short skits, historical reenactments, and recitations of famous poems or speeches.
  • Comedy: Lighthearted acts celebrating American life and history.

“The Ilion Little Theatre has been a cornerstone of the Mohawk Valley since 1924,” said George Lyon, member at  large. “Celebrating 250 years of our nation in a building with such deep local roots is a powerful way to honor our shared history and future.

Performers should come prepared with a 2 to 3 minute sample of their act. Singers are asked to bring their own backing tracks.
