Canal Place, Little Falls, NY

Little Falls, New York – We’re counting down to this year’s Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 10am – 5pm at Canal Place in historic Little Falls, NY!

Founded in 2000, the Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival is one of the region’s most popular early autumn agricultural events.

The Mohawk Valley has long been established as an ideal location for growing garlic with local producers offering a variety of the finest garlic in the area. This year’s festival offers the perfect opportunity to talk with garlic growers and learn the benefits of growing garlic and even how to add it to your own garden. Our garlic growers can help you determine which varieties of garlic may work best for you and your favorite family recipes.

Meet with garlic and herb growers along with vendors including artisans, food, drinks and more!

In addition to garlic growers, the festival features herb growers, artisans, and an assortment of food vendors that are known throughout the area for their specialties. We are happy to welcome back vendors from previous years as well as new vendors to this year’s event. For a list of this year’s participating vendors visit https://mvghf.com/vendors/. This year’s festival will also feature live music all day!

Suggested donation for admission is only $5 per person or $15 for a family/group. We gladly support the local arts community including musicians, artisans, Think Local Little Falls and the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts. Free shuttle parking takes you straight to the Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival! Service dogs are welcome but we ask that pets stay at home, please.

About the Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival

The Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival was founded in 2000 by a few enthusiastic Garlic farmers from the Little Falls area. They had found the soil and climate of the Mohawk Valley to be conducive to growing an excellent garlic crop and that the crop was well received at their local Farmers’ Market. Some of the first farmers visited, and then began to sell at both the Vermont Garlic Festival and the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival. As the story goes, it was a remark such as: “We should start a Garlic Festival of our own!”

UNIQUELY LOCAL. The Mohawk Valley’s climate and soils are ideal for growing garlic and herbs, which is why we have so many local producers. The Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival is a non-profit agricultural festival; we aim to provide information to area would-be farmers and gardeners pertaining to the benefits of growing these crops.
