Amsterdam’s Tree Lighting Festival Sponsored by Montgomery County Public Health PFC Joseph P. Dwyer
Amsterdam, NY: The City of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Tourism, Marketing & Recreation Department presents Amsterdam’s Tree Lighting Festival sponsored by Montgomery County Public Health PFC Joseph P. Dwyer on Friday, November 24th on the Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook Bridge at 4PM.
Mayor Michael Cinquanti stated, “I’m looking forward to the final event for the 2023 season. Thisshould be the best Christmas tree-lighting ceremony yet and we’re hoping for great weather and a great turnout!
At 4PM enjoy FREE horse drawn carriage rides, hats and gloves, hot cider and coffee sponsored by Sticker Mule, hot chocolate and bake goods served by the Amsterdam Marching Rams, donuts and water sponsored by Kinowski Agency and caroling with Mohawk Valley Chorus. Plus, be one of the first 300 to receive your free kids winter jacket sponsored by MVP Health Care, United Way of the Greater Capital Region and St. Mary’s Healthcare, Amsterdam. Children must be present to receive a coat while supplies last. The official lighting of our tree and Santa’s arrival will be at 4:30PM.
This year’s Tree Lighting Ceremony will be honoring and remembering PFC Joseph P. Dwyer and the Legacy of Service.
“As we just celebrated Veteran’s Day, we want to honor those lives lost as well as those who continue to serve our County.” Montgomery County Public Health Department, Sara Boerenko stated. She went onto saying, “This tree lighting ceremony is a remembrance of PFC Joseph P. Dwyer and the legacy of service. We stand today and every day with our Veteran’s, our active-duty men and women and stand with the families of these heroes.”
