Certified instructor, Nia Tormey, will instruct up to eight students for a free CPR, First Aid and Certification Class at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., on Saturday, September 27 from 10 am – 2 pm.

CPR, AED & and Basic Life Saving skills, opioid education, and a brief Narcan training, will be included. Another CPR, First Aid and Certification Class with Nia is scheduled for Saturday November 15, also from 10am – 2 pm.

CPR classes teach life-saving skills that can increase survival rates during emergencies like cardiac arrest. They boost confidence in handling critical situations, help others in need, and may be required for certain jobs. CPR training also often includes first aid knowledge, providing broader emergency response abilities.

Library programs are free and open to all. The class size is limited to 8 participants, so pre-registration is required. If the class is full, the library staff will put you on a waiting list for a future class. CPR and first aid classes are made possible by a generous grant from The Max and Victoria Dreyfus Foundation.
